IELTS Test Information
The IELTS test grades your proficiency in English. It is recognised by professional organisations and educational institutions worldwide and is the current pathway for entry to tertiary institutions and permanent residency applications in Australia.
The IELTS test consists of two Modules:
- The Academic Module - for people who want to study an undergraduate or postgraduate course, or for professional reasons.
- The General Training Module - for people who want to follow a non-academic course or used as a measure of language ability for immigration purposes.
Both modules consist of four sections:
- Listening,
- Reading,
- Writing and
- Speaking.
All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking tests but the Reading and Writing tests are different for the Academic and General modules.
